Day Thirteen: Redeemer

There is a redeemer,
Jesus, God's own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One,

This was one of my favourite choruses for a long time. It was the first that I learned how to play on the flute back when I was in elementary school. Even more than the melody though, I really like the simplicity, yet power of the lyrics. Solid.Biblical.Truth. Jesus is our Redeemer and the more aware I become of my sin the more thankful I am that Jesus has cleansed it all. He paid for our debt, traded His life for our own, recovered our lives from the captivity of sin - He is our Redeemer.

“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,And at the last He will take His stand on the earth."  - Job 19:25

"Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb,'I, the Lord, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself and spreading out the earth all alone.'" - Isaiah 44:24

Dear Jesus,

Nothing that I say or do will ever be able to repay what You did for me on the cross. Thank You that ALL of my sin has been redeemed by the only One who was able to do so. Jesus, thank You for laying down Your life so that mine could be free. Words are not enough, but I love You. Amen.
